Healthcare Business Development Manager

Vecna Cares, a healthcare and humanitarian technology non-profit organization and social enterprise, seeks an enthusiastic leader who is passionate about making a positive real-world impact in under-served settings globally. You will use your experience and expertise to drive the expansion and implementation of digital solutions globally. VecnaCares had developed a highly intuitive end0user designed EMR and advanced maternity solution, iDeliver, that is focused on reducing maternal mortality through use of technology. VecnaCares’s product portfolio includes open-source modules for OpenMRS, the global standard EMR that has been adopted across 60+ countries. We are looking for a Healthcare Business Development Manager to sell enterprise level software to hospitals and healthcare facilities. The selected candidate will be expected to develop the pipeline and meet quotas for the territory serving as an integral part of the VecnaCares healthcare sales team. This is a full-time, salary plus commission based role.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify business opportunities by finding prospects in the healthcare sector. 

  • Sell products by developing relationships with prospects and recommending solutions. 

  • Maintain client relationships by providing support, information, and guidance.

  • Research and recommend new opportunities.

  • Implement sales training including solution selling, product knowledge and sales methodology

  • Manage an on-going sales pipeline and opportunities across the team for forecasting purposes

  • Drive the “go-to-market” strategy needed to deliver on the short term and long-term revenue and operating income targets

  • Understand and align the strategic trajectory of the client to maximize sales potential

  • Drive and support new opportunities and collaborate with Client engagement teams to ensure growth attainment with the assigned existing client

  • Recommend profit and service improvements. 

  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors. 

  • Identify partners and maintain relationships with them. 

  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. 

  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. 

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies. 

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of East Africa healthcare system. 

  • 2-4 years of enterprise sales experience. 

  • 2-4 years' experience selling software healthcare solutions a plus

  • Ability to demonstrate in-depth sales, marketing and financial principles.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives. 

  • Strong people management skills.

  • Excellent personal interaction, presentation, and communication skills. 

  • Disciplined follow-through and organizational capabilities. 

  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals.

Your Role:

  • Research and gather information on a prospect's pain points and their underlying cause to help formulate a compelling and consultative sales approach and generate interest in our solutions.

  • Relentlessly seek out new potential accounts to prospect via phone calls, emails, and other methods at volume with an eye toward exceeding expectations.

  • Confidently speak and creatively write communications to make a good first impression.

  • Quickly recognize good prospects and schedule demos.

  • Work closely with team to ensure qualified leads convert into clients.
