CliniPAK™

The Global Health Initiative harnesses advances in information technology to save lives in under-served communities. The Clinical Patient Administration Kit (CliniPAK) is our flagship technology which enables patient check-in, vitals capture, diagnosis, treatment, case review and administrative tasks.

The CliniPAK provides Community Health Workers (CHWs) with clinical decision support for diagnosis and treatment based on a patient's symptoms. It's also equipped with a report module that is currently used to report aggregate infectious disease data to the governmental organizations. This reporting capability has eliminated the need to shutdown the clinics for a day just to create the infectious disease report.

The CliniPAK system comprises:

Vecna Medical has donated IP related to its patient self-service software and adapted it to the workflows used by Vecna Cares' CliniPAK system. Vecna is in process of improving on the current version of CliniPAK. Upcoming development efforts include server synchronization, more robust diagnosis and treatment support and reports module.

Survey App on Android Smartphones

Vecna is supporting UPenn's Dr. Jennifer Cohn's research on HIV medication adherence in Kenya. The team modified an Open Data Kit (ODK) Collect, which is an open-source tool that helps manage mobile data collection, such as a survey. The survey application was loaded onto an Android smartphone that the Community Health Workers (CHWs) carry when visiting patients. The completed surveys are then uploaded to a Vecna-hosted server, where the data is available for download and reporting. This has been a vast improvement over the paper and pen survey collection method.
